Qissa Meherbano Ka

Episode 4

Story Review

The episode started where Mehran is telling Abba mia that he wants to marry Meherbano. He ask him to send a letter to her husband Muraad for divorce.

In a flashback, we get to know that Abba mia took an oath on Quran Shareef, that Meherbano is not like her brother, she will not take divorce.

So, Abba mia meets imam e masjid and ask his suggestion, he advise him to go for divorce, Allah knows the situation He will forgive your oath. Abba mia send a letter to Muraad.

Muraad gets the letter, his mother ask, what’s the matter, he tells her that Asghar Ali Mehtab(Abba mia) father of Meherbano, asking divorce for her. His mother seems reluctant, but Muraad wants to get rid of her and this so called relationship.

With the mother and son conversation it is established that Muraad’s sister is dead now, her son is Ayaaz(khushhal khan) is living with his mamo and nani. He has some share in their property. Nani and Mamo doesn’t like him much. They constantly taunt him. Ayaaz seems to be a nice boy.

Abba mia goes to Mehran’s home to meet his mother, but she misbehaved, she even clear the fact, between the lines, that she will not let her son marry Meherbano.

Meherbano tells her father that she owns whatever happens to her in the past but if someone (Mehran’s mother) insults her, she will not tolerate.

Mehran comes and meet Abba mia, he ask him to trust him he will definitely convince his mother. He also meets Meherbano and ask her to wait for him, he loves her and wants to marry her. When leaving, he meets Muraad at the gate. Episode ends.

My Take

This episode was so far the most interesting episode of this drama serial. The only reason I am still watching it and writing this review is the acting of Mawra Hoccain. She is a mature person, and it immensely visible in her acting. Whenever she is talking to Areej, it is clearly understood that there is a generation gap. Areej is loud and a bit over but she maintain a very good chemistry with Mawra.

Ahsan Khan has a charisma, which is captivating. But his mother is a little over the top.

Khushhal Khan has a good screen presence. And he seems to be a protagonist.

Over all, drama has picked up a speed. It has a good premise but the major flaw is the direction.
