Story Review
The episode starts, Saleha visits her mother’s place and she gives meethai of Aswad and Mehreen’s engagement. Tahir, Shagufta and her mother takes it as a surprise and they react in a very bitter way. Tahir said you knew that we wanted Mashal to marry Aswad, so why you fixed this proposal. Saleha said I always imagine Mehreen as my daughter in law. Mashal comes and say that Aswad loves me and he wants to marry me, you are ruining my life as well as your son’s life. Saleha returns home. She tells Aswad that they are blaming you, that you are flirting with her for so many years. Aswad gets disturb. He never thought like that. He meets Mashal, and tell her that he cannot tolerate his mother’s insult. He liked her but not so much that he go against his mother’s will. Mashal said that she will go against all the odds to marry him.
Tahir and Shagufta tried to pressurize Rabia to back off from this marriage. They even said that they have taken care of Mehreen from her earlier childhood, it is the time that she should pay back.
Rabia discuss this with Saleha, she said don’t worry, we are the mothers, no one can dictate us. We will do Nikkah ceremony as soon as possible.
Mehreen tells Aswad that this should not happen. Aswad shouts and say why are you playing around. First you agreed to this proposal and now you are backing off. Saleha console her, and tells her that even if you don’t marry him I will not make Mashal my daughter in law. She give her red dress and jewellery for Nikkah.
Mashal warns Aswad that if he doesn’t marry her, than she will not let him marry Mehreen either.
Tahir and Shagufta asked Mehreen to leave the house. She discuss with Khala, she said you pack your stuff and move to my place. Then we will do Nikkah in a week.
Mehreen and Mashal had a conversation, Mehreen belittle her by saying that if you really love Aswad, I would have left him, but you are only after him because I am marrying him. You take away whatever I gets. I pity you.
Mashal enters Mehreen’s room, when there is no one at home, she saw her red dupatta. She cut it , out of envy.
My take
In This episode, the story didn’t move further but the whole episode revolve around the attitude changes.
Mamo and momani ( Tahir and ZQ) showed their true colors. They asked for a pay back for what ever they have done so far. Their performance is so up to the mark that one starts hating the mamo and momani.
Huma Nawab is again the star of the episode. She has performed with much elegance and grace. She is the only positive character in the whole cast. All the other ones has some grey shades. All have some flaws which is so natural and relatable with real life.
Kubra Khan is an amazing actor, she is portraying every emotion of a child who has been compared with her brilliant cousin all her childhood. She has an inferiority complex, she is basically obsessed with Mehreen.
Usman Mukhtar, is not the right choice for Aswad. He is unable to convey the feelings of Aswad. The character is going through such a turmoil but he is just portraying like he is angry. Hopefully in coming episodes, we get to see something powerful from him.
