Story Review
Shams: In this episode Shams is handling his new job issues. He is the new factory manager, in the factory there is a Labour union leader, who messes around during work hours. Controls the labour with his power. He threaten Shams that I am the one who controls the Labour. Shams smartly handled the situation. He changed all the workers. He hired the labour on daily wages from the streets. This way the power of union leader becomes nill. At home Shams parents asked him about his opinion of the Geeti’s proposal. He said if they want it so, than he has no issue in marrying Geeti.
Geeti: Geeti had less screen time in this episode. She comes to know that Shams agrees to the proposal. She happily takes pictures with Rukhsana and Samina.
Falak: Her scene starts when she wakes up, her maid comes and tell her that Danial has gone out of the town for two days. The maid knows about the last night’s quarrel. So she suggested Falak, that you better go to your parents as soon as possible. Falak asked her, why are you saying this, tell me everything, after taking the details from her, Falak meet the friend of Danial, Aurangzeb and his wife. They knew about Danial’s ex-wife. But they said they only knows Danial’s side of story. They give moral support to Falak. She comes back home. Her sister called her and told her about shams and Geeti’s proposal. Falak saw a gun in Danial’s drawer. Later that night, Falak having her dinner when Danial comes back home. He tries to cheer her up but she was tensed and upset. Within few minutes of talking calmly he started loosing his temper. As soon as he shouts aggressively, the maid hits him hard on the head. He falls on the ground unconscious. Falak runs away with the maid.
Danial: Danial’s flashbacks revealed his past story, that he came back from America because his grand father was a feudal lord he posses a lot of land as his property which is being illegally captured by a Sardar. Danial wanted to take revenge and get his forefather’s land back. He eloped with Sardar’s daughter. And marry with her. Danial’s father advise him that if he really loves this girl take her to America and live your life in peace. But he said he has big plans here.
My Take
It is difficult to figure out the true genre of this drama. It has comedy, love story, thrill, passion, must say all in one. But overall captivating. The characterisation is perfect. The actors are consistently in their characters.
The USP of Laapata is the song, apart from OST in every episode which gives a touch of a film to the drama as well. The song in almost every episode adds value.
The complete lead cast is giving their 100% to their character, from the looks to the performance so on point.
Laapata is a good entertaining drama to watch.
