Story Review
The episode started, Parizaad sitting with his sister, she said to him, ” don’t you worry. I will handle my situation. elder brothers and Bhabhis are barely tolerating you in the house, if you will offend them you will have to leave the house.” But Parizaad become worried. He seemed worried even in the university. Lubna saw him and asked what’s the problem. He said nothing much, just some domestic problems of my sister’s household. Parizaad asked her in return you also seems quite worried, what’s the matter, she said I’m having some problems. He smiled and said, “riches like you also has problems, i thought problems are only for the poors.” She laughed on his sarcastic comment and told him that her mother wants to change the city, which she doesn’t want to, as she wants to complete her degree. He asked her about her father, she said he left my mother and I don’t want to discuss this topic.
Parizaad secretly tried to find the documents of their property (house) at night.
Lubna missed university classes . Parizaad went to her house to inquire why isn’t she coming to university. Her mother told him that she is getting married in three days with Mr. Noman whom he met in the Party. Lubna came, he congratulate her for wedding. He asked her why Noman, she could get better life partner. She said that in our culture, we don’t get proposals, we get bids. Who ever bids higher can get me. Parizaad was shocked. He said bids are for prostitutes. She said, who do you think I am. I am the same. This is the age of life style. I always wanted to study, so thanks to mama, she allow me to study this much, but it was the condition as soon as i will receive the right bid I have to leave the education. Parizaad gets really disturb hearing all this. He said he will pray for her that she has a peace full life. He left. When he was leaving Lubna’s mother met him. She said this world is after money. A man should have to have a lot of money, so all his flaws gets covered.
Parizaad decided to leave the university and do a job. He started working at a mechanic shop, started training of welding. Saeeda is expecting. Her in-laws taunt her that her brothers doesn’t care about her.
Naheed, also expecting, and came to stay at her mother’s place. Parizaad saw her, he met Shoky later, he asked him why he left university, he even offered him financial help. But obviously Parizaad refused.
Parizaad went to meet Mr Noman at his office. He went to sell his words- his poetry. He instantly bought it. Noman gave him the amount he asked for. Parizaad handed this money to his sister. He said to his brother in law that I hope you can start your business with this money. Saeeda asked him from where he got so much money. He said I sold my poetry. I will not have my book publish but i will be contented that no one will taunt my sister of being an orphan.
My take
Mashal Khan has performed very well. Her character had a great impact on Parizaad’s life. The conversation between Mashal Khan and Ahmed Ali when they were sitting at her home was the real perk of the episode. The best dialogue was:
Parizaad: mohabbat andhi hoti hai, kaash hum jin se mohabbat kartey voh bhi andhey hote tou kitna acha hota.
Lubna: mera bus chaley tou baqi sari dunya ki ankhein phorr don jo tumhare ander k insan ko na dekh pai.
The conversation between Lubna’s mother and Parizaad was also very powerful and it turned the way Parizaad thinks. She said, A man’s beauty lies in his money, make yourself so rich that your flaws becomes your style. Go out there and get your share. This poetry is useless if coming from a poor man. A rich mans slang sounds like poetry. Go and conquer the world.
