EPISODE 1
Story Review:
Saleha lives in Kuwait and she is on her visit to Pakistan. Shamim Hilaly is her mother, she lives with her son faisal and ZQ. Saleha and Rabia came to maika, bhabhi shugufta is cooking meal. Mehreen, aswad and mishal is playing outside. At night Shugfta told her husband that your sister brought only one dress for mishal and many dresses for Mehreen, and Mishal was there and listening.
Mansoor and Rabia fights because mansoor sell Rabia’s jewellery and Mehreen was listening. He take drugs and steel money from his work place. Rabia told her mother and brother about it. They ask her to come back and leave Mehreen with her Father, Mehreen was again listening this.
At Night Rabia told Mansoor that she is leaving. Before she leaves, Mansoor died.
The next scene opens Mehreen grown up as Mahira Khan. She lives with her Nani and Mamo. Her mother re married. Mishal and Mehreen studies in the same university. But Mehreen goes by bus and Mishal goes to university by car alone.
Mishal leaves no opportunity to tease Mehreen. While Aswad is abroad for studies and his mother lives alone as his Father died.
My take :
The drama is promising. The episode one was very powerful start for such a mega project. There was no dragging or over dramatization of characters. Umera Ahmed writing is always family oriented, there was fight, family politics and toxicity but not a single word crossed the line of vulgarity.
The drama has created a hype because of Mahira khan appearing on TV after very long. And she has proven the wait was worth it.
The Character Perk of the Episode:
There is a servant in the house, who is listening to all the politics going on and playing her part equally in favoring the strongest and teasing the weakest.
Shabbo is playing her part very well and her character is giving a support to the story.
